My lessons are fully personalised and built around the individual needs of each student. Before we begin any teaching, I take time to understand the needs of the individual case, what motivates them, and what they want to achieve, considering each outcome as a priority in the learning journey. This initial conversation allows me to create a tailored learning plan that is realistic, engaging and fully aligned with their goals.
Every session follows a clear structure:
Check-in & reflection – How the student is feeling, what went well since the last session, and any challenges faced along the way.
Targeted learning – Skills-based teaching focused on study techniques, organisation, revision strategies, or subject-specific support depending on their needs.
Guided practice – Applying strategies to real tasks, homework, or upcoming assessments, managing time and allowing for optimal engagement.
Review & next steps – A simple action plan to keep students on track between sessions; focussed on timetabling and organising time effectively.
My teaching style is calm, supportive and motivational. I draw on over 10 years of experience in secondary education, pastoral leadership, behaviour support and alternative provision, ensuring I can adapt my approach for learners of all abilities, including those who may lack confidence, feel overwhelmed, or need a fresh start, along with those that require additional challenge to their learning.
Students can expect lessons that are structured, encouraging, and always centred around making progress at a pace that works for them. My aim is simple: to help students believe in their ability, build strong learning habits, and achieve their potential through personalised, meaningful systems that derive on positive recognition.
