My lessons always move at a pace that suits the student. I have a stage based curriculum of musical material, adaptable to the music taste of my student. We learn best when we learn the music and playing styles we enjoy listening to and I am conscious of this :)

Getting to know the student is very important to me, so that I can account for how the guitarist learns best, their strengths and what they are looking to build on. These aspects are all able to be interacted with through engaging with the student's music taste and getting to know their desired playing style and how we can get the most out of it!

I have my own system of grading which is relevant to the stages we go through in our playing journey, from "walking the fingers" for absolute beginners, all the way to knocking, palm muting and engaging with a multitude of genres as a player progresses.

In terms of my own experience, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Music Technology from Bath Spa University, I have also played guitar and bass for a number of bands who have played live in cities such as London, Bristol and Cardiff to name a few. I also have over a decade of playing experience and can play many styles, helping me to understand the type of guitar my student wants to play and apply knowledge that has worked for me and helped me learn to be better to their learning journey!
