Finding the right tutor is about more than just finding someone who knows biology, it is about finding someone who knows how to teach it to you. With a 1st Class Honours degree in Neuroscience and a professional background in medical publishing, I bring both a deep academic foundation in the life sciences and a meticulous, detail-oriented approach to our sessions. My goal is to make biology feel less like a mountain of rote memorisation and more like a logical, fascinating story, all while remaining entirely focused on your unique learning needs.

My Lesson Format
Our first session will be a discovery lesson. We will identify exactly where you are struggling, set clear objectives, and determine the specific units where you want to see the most improvement. From there, I structure my lessons to be fluid and dynamic. I don’t believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach; instead, I adapt my communication style to match yours. Whether we are tackling complex processes like cell respiration, understanding genetic inheritance, or navigating the intricacies of ecology, I break down technical scientific language into manageable, logical steps to ensure you feel confident rather than overwhelmed. My experience in medical publishing ensures that I am precise, well-organised, and attentive to the finer details of the curriculum.

Learning Dynamics
When I was in school and university, I found that I learnt best by engaging actively with the material. I often turned study sessions into games and utilised the benefit of drawing out biological pathways or notes by hand (for me it was slower than typing on a computer, so I was thinking more about what I was writing). In our sessions, we can implement these techniques together. I am happy to help you build a personalised study toolkit, including creating custom flashcards. Whether you prefer digital apps for on-the-go review or traditional physical cards, I loved using both!

My Experience
My teaching approach is built on a foundation of patience and academic expertise. Having worked as a teaching assistant, I have seen firsthand how different students process scientific data and terminology. Furthermore, my two years of experience in childcare have taught me how to explain difficult, technical ideas in a simple, clear, and encouraging way. I am committed to making our biology lessons productive, structured, and most importantly, achievable.
