I teach English speaking, reading, and writing. I use visuals, dialogue, and games. My classes focus on the ways American English is spoken and written, both formally and informally. We'll practice grammar as well as phonics, creative writing, idioms, and slang. Some classes will focus on practical projects, such writing resumes and cover letters. Games we play in class will be designed to practice what's being studied at the moment and they may also serve as assessments.
My goal is to learn my students needs and design the class in the best way for that individual. I have a relaxed teaching style because I know how difficult it is to study a new language and I find that my students learn best in a relaxed environment.
I taught English for 9 years in countries such as South Korea, Poland, China, and Taiwan. I've had students from all over the world and of ages 5-adult. I enjoy sharing my language and culture with students and aim to provide people with knowledge they need to improve their lives. I've helped people with casual conversation, writing essays and letters, and preparing for tests. I'm aware of many of the common challenges English language learners face. We can work together to build on what you already know and I'll provide the knowledge you need to improve. I'm a native English speaker from the USA, I have a Masters degree in Education, a TEFL certificate, and I'm the author of three novels. I look forward to chatting with my new students.
