I have over two years’ experience teaching English as a second language (ESL). I spent just under a year working as an English language assistant at a lycée and collège in France. During this time, I designed and delivered around 16 hours per week of English lessons to French students aged between 11 and 18. I also provided private English lessons to students.

In addition, I have tutored ESL learners on a part-time basis for a number of years. Since May 2025, I've been providing at least 20 hours per week of ESL tuition to students online. Most of my teaching experience has been with intermediate to advanced learners who are looking to improve their speaking skills, widen their vocabulary and brush up on any minor grammar points.

My lessons are highly interactive, providing plenty of opportunities to practise speaking and engage with English content such as video clips and articles. I prompt students to correct themselves and adapt my lessons to their needs. I welcome feedback so that I can make my lessons as engaging and helpful as possible to students.

For students with a strong command of English who are looking to brush up their speaking skills and comprehension, lessons tend to include discussions about texts and videos on societal and cultural issues. For pupils hoping to improve their Business English, I incorporate speaking drills and role play activities in my lessons.

Previously, I worked as a journalist and spent six years at national news agencies and leading regional newspapers in the UK. I am therefore ideally placed to help students with verbal communication in a range of workplace scenarios, as well as CV, letter and email writing.
