I'm a second year medical student with a previous degree in Psychology, and minors in Biology and Chemistry. I have a strong passion for sharing the knowledge I've gained and fostering academic achievement in the next generation of students.

I first gauge the student's current level of knowledge surrounding the subject, reinforce that, and fill in the gaps from there. This ensures that the student maintains confidence in their abilities and is motivated to continue building their understanding.

For students that are unfamiliar or overwhelmed with the content, I focus on fostering the student's desire to understand rather than regurgitate knowledge. I utilise a repetitive exposure technique using a diverse form of media, including drawing activities and other visualisation techniques. Achieving a deep level of understanding requires time and consistency, so I check in frequently, answering questions and correcting any errors.

For students that have an understanding of the content and need to revise, I prefer to know the specific content of the lesson in advance so I can create a tailored lesson using active recall methods. This may happen in the form of practice questions, blurting, and reversing the classroom.

I am flexible on the platform of choice for virtual lessons, but in the past I have joined Zoom calls from my laptop and streamed my iPad screen for real-time annotation. I prefer to have the name of the textbook for in-person tutoring and will always communicate with the student for any materials (colored pens, notecards, et.) they will require.

I have worked with an extremely diverse group of students, ranging from the talkative primary school pupil to the shy university-ready student. I always remember to play games with the young ones and treat the older ones with the respect and independence they deserve. I am motivated to understand the student's needs and work with them to achieve their academic goals.
