Hi, I’m Rio Lecointe, a Sport and Exercise Psychology Consultant with experience working with young athletes and students to help them perform at their best—both in sport and in the classroom. My background combines sport psychology, coaching, and education, so my sessions are all about developing practical mental skills that boost confidence, focus, motivation, and overall wellbeing.
Each student starts with an informal chat where we get to know each other and talk about your goals, challenges, and what you’d like to get out of the sessions. From there, I build a picture of what areas might need a bit more focus—whether that’s motivation, confidence, organisation, or handling pressure. I then design a plan that links these areas to proven sport and performance psychology strategies, tailored around how you like to learn and work.
Sessions are active and interactive—expect plenty of discussion, reflection, and practical tools you can start using straight away. We might explore things like goal-setting, mindfulness, or time-management, but everything is personalised and grounded in what’s most relevant to you. I like to use short, hands-on activities to make the learning experience real and memorable—such as values exercises, guided imagery, or acceptance-based challenges that help you apply psychological skills to sport, study, and life.
Throughout, I emphasise self-reflection and ownership: helping you understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours so you can take control of your performance and wellbeing. I also work closely with teachers, coaches, or parents (where it helps) to make sure you’re supported consistently across different environments.
Together, we track your progress, celebrate improvements, and adjust along the way so you always feel supported and motivated. The ultimate goal is for you to walk away with the confidence, resilience, and self-awareness to perform—and feel—your best, both in sport and beyond.
