I am writing to express my interest in the Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Tutor position. With an MS in Healthcare Biotechnology and a BS in Biotechnology, combined with research experience and professional scientific writing experience, I bring a strong scientific foundation and excellent communication skills that I believe would allow me to support students effectively.
It has given me extensive exposure to biology, genetics, molecular biology, biotechnology, chemistry, and other life-science concepts. During my studies and research work, I worked on projects involving cancer genetics, molecular biology, drug discovery, and biotechnology. These experiences strengthened my analytical thinking and ability to understand scientific concepts beyond textbook-level definitions.
In addition to my academic background, I have professional experience working remotely as a Scientific Writer for a UK-based company. In this role, I researched scientific literature and developed accurate, well-structured content based on complex scientific information. Working remotely with an international organization also strengthened my communication, time-management, responsibility, and ability to work independently.
Although I am entering formal tutoring without previous professional tutoring experience, I believe my combination of academic knowledge, research, scientific writing, and communication skills provides a strong foundation for teaching. I enjoy breaking complex concepts into simple, logical steps and helping learners understand the reasoning behind scientific processes rather than relying solely on memorization.
My approach to tutoring would be student-centered and concept-focused. I would adapt explanations to each student's level, use examples and visual explanations where appropriate, encourage questions, and provide practice opportunities to reinforce learning. I am particularly passionate about helping students develop confidence in science and recognize that challenging subjects can become much easier when concepts are explained in an accessible way.
