My Teaching Experience
I currently work as an Essential &Vocational Skills Assessor, delivering and assessing Numeracy, Communication and Digital Literacy qualifications up to Level 3. I support learners by identifying knowledge gaps, creating personalised learning plans and preparing them for examinations and controlled assessments.
Previously, I worked as a Mathematics and Numeracy Tutor, teaching adult and post-16 learners, including those who had previously struggled with mathematics or lacked GCSE qualifications. I also delivered Microsoft Excel training through the Multiply programme to organisations including the NHS and the Royal Mint.
My school experience includes teaching Mathematics, Science and Food Technology in secondary schools, as well as supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and those educated within Pupil Referral Units.
My Teaching Style
Every learner is different. I tailor lessons to suit each student's learning style, pace and confidence level. My sessions are structured, engaging and supportive, using clear explanations, worked examples and plenty of practice to ensure learners fully understand each topic.
I specialise in helping students who:
• Need to build confidence in mathematics
• Are preparing for GCSE examinations
• Have dyslexia or Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
• Are returning to education as adults
• Need workplace numeracy or digital skills, as well as other qualifications
• Want to master Microsoft Excel for work or career progression
My goal is not simply to improve examination results but to help learners become confident, independent thinkers who enjoy learning.
If you're looking for a patient, experienced and knowledgeable tutor who can explain difficult concepts in a simple and practical way, I'd be delighted to help you achieve your goals.
