I'm a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA, qualified in 2009) with 23 years' experience working across both practice and industry. I currently lead outsourced finance functions for a portfolio of growing businesses, including start-ups and scaling companies across tech, SaaS and biochemistry, so what I teach comes directly from what I actually do day to day, not just from a textbook.

My lessons are relaxed, practical and built around you. Before we start, I like to understand exactly where you're at and what you're aiming for — whether that's passing an AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA exam, getting to grips with bookkeeping and VAT for your own business, or simply building confidence with numbers you've always found intimidating. From there, I tailor the content and pace to suit you rather than working through a fixed script.

I cover the full range of accountancy topics: bookkeeping fundamentals, VAT and payroll, management accounts, year-end and statutory accounts, corporation tax, financial controls and reporting, and general financial literacy. For exam-focused students, we work through past papers, technique and common pitfalls. For business owners and beginners, we focus on real, practical scenarios so concepts stick rather than just being memorised.

My teaching style is patient and jargon-free. I break things down step by step, use plenty of real-world examples, and encourage questions throughout — there's no such thing as a silly question in my lessons. I'm equally comfortable with complete beginners and with students preparing for professional-level exams, and I'll happily slow down, speed up or revisit topics as many times as you need.

Lessons are delivered flexibly and remotely, fitting around your schedule, and I'm always happy to adjust based on how you're finding things as we go. My goal is simple: to leave you genuinely understanding the subject, not just passing the next assessment.
