I am a native speaker of both English and Greek, my knowledge of Greek grammar is better than that of English, however I am looking to teach people conversational Greek for travel or business.
My intention for each student is to have a tailored experience according to how you may want to use the Greek language and your purpose for learning.
For those intending to visit Greece I would also be willing to potentially do live lessons as my home is on Paros, a very popular tourist destination and a perfect place to engage with the Greek people.
I am also learning how to best teach each person, I do not view teaching a language as a rigid experience following a singular format. There is a reason we say "it's all Greek to me", the language is structured very differently to English and my first focus will be on how to put together sentences of every day use, and also how to break them down in a way that the structure itself is understood.
All in all I find that use of knowledge in conversation also opens up new doors to better understanding and will try to fit conversation into as many lessons as possible once the right vocabulary and level is reached. Vocabulary will be increased by repetition and through new words being introduced systemically for the better integration of their use into the lessons.
Most important of all I wish to impart "meraki"
A Greek concept of doing something with good attitude and an easy going nature.
I look forward to meeting people who wish to learn Greek of any level.
Thank you.
