Remi Momo

I am an experienced Computer Science teacher and former senior Data Science leader with a PhD in Industrial Statistics and Data Science. I have taught across KS3, GCSE, A-Level and IB Diploma, including three years in an independent sixth-form setting where I helped establish Computer Science provision from the ground up.

My teaching covers Python programming, algorithms, data structures, databases, SQL, Boolean logic, networking, computer systems, object-oriented programming and artificial intelligence. I have also taught 13–15-year-old students on intensive Computer Science programmes at St Anne’s College, Oxford. I support students with examination preparation, programming tasks, revision, misconceptions and exam technique, while adapting lessons for both struggling learners and high-achieving students.

Before entering education, I progressed to leadership roles including Head of Data Science and Head of Advanced Analytics. This allows me to enrich lessons with practical industry examples from programming, machine learning, data analytics and real-world information systems.

My tutoring approach is personalised, structured and student-centred. I first assess each student’s knowledge, confidence and goals, then design sessions around their specific needs. Lessons combine clear explanations, worked examples, code tracing, debugging, retrieval practice and exam-style questions. I gradually reduce scaffolding so students become increasingly independent.

I also teach students how to interpret command words, use mark schemes and structure effective examination responses. Above all, I create an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes and developing confidence, resilience and strong problem-solving skills.
