In my lessons, I create a supportive and structured environment where students feel confident to learn, ask questions, and challenge themselves. I tailor each session to the student’s individual goals – whether that’s analysing complex literature texts, enhancing creative and persuasive writing, or mastering exam techniques and timing.

Each lesson typically includes a recap of prior learning, a main focus area (such as a theme, extract, or writing task), and engaging, interactive elements like annotation, discussion, and timed writing practice. I also provide clear, constructive feedback to help students develop strong essay structures, analytical thinking, and confidence in their own ideas.

I’ve successfully tutored GCSE English students and helped one student improve from a Grade 3 to a Grade 7, through consistent guidance, targeted revision strategies, and boosting their self-confidence. With a Grade 9 in English Literature and a Grade 8 in English Language, I know what examiners expect and how to simplify challenging material.

I specialise in key GCSE texts such as Macbeth and An Inspector Calls, helping students explore characters, themes, and context in depth. I use model paragraphs, past exam questions, and detailed annotation methods to build critical analysis skills and exam readiness.

I also draw on a wide range of resources – exam board materials, vocabulary-building tools, personalised worksheets, and creative learning activities – to make lessons both engaging, effective, and enjoyable. My ultimate goal is to help students feel prepared, motivated, and capable of achieving excellent results in English.
