My lessons are interactive, supportive, and tailored to each student’s style. I work through with the student a clear plan to identify topics they feel less confident in to create a structured plan that breaks topics down into manageable steps. Each session typically starts with a short recap of the previous lesson and a catchup of their week, followed by an explanation of new content, worked examples, and plenty of exam practice questions.

I encourage students to explore what revision style works best for them - whether verbal, auditory, or visual - to make learning more dynamic and personalised. I introduce practical revision techniques such as “blurting,” and adapt lessons to suit the student’s needs: some benefit from visual aids and diagrams, while others prefer step-by-step walkthroughs or real-world applications of scientific concepts. I also integrate exam-style questions, helping students gain confidence with both the content and the exam process under time pressure. As ensuring we get every mark is the main focus.

With over two and a half years of experience tutoring science at KS3–KS5, I have supported a wide range of learners, from those working towards top grades to those aiming to strengthen their understanding of the basics. My approach combines academic standards with encouragement, creating a safe environment where students feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow from them.

Above all, my goal is to help every student achieve their ambitions - whether that’s improving grades, preparing for exams, or developing a genuine enjoyment of science.
