Nonetheless, despite biology's enormous reach, there are several universal and unifying notions that govern all study and research:
The cell is the fundamental unit of life, and genes (made up of DNA or RNA) are the fundamental unit of heredity.
The unity and variety observed among living species can be attributed to evolution.
All creatures exist by absorbing and changing energy, and all organisms keep their internal environment steady.
The anatomy, development, chemical characteristics, genetics, and evolution of a species are all part of the science of biology
