Rachel Malone

I have years experience with tutoring children. Beginning during my teacher training, I have always loved helping those who just need a little extra help! I have led tutoring sessions for English, Mathematics, Science, History, Art and Gaeilge (our language in Ireland!) I place a strong focus on building a good relationship with my student to ensure that we can work together in a positive environment with mutual respect.

I promote active learning and hands-on activities. I love to find unique ways of approaching topics to suit the individual needs of my students. I specialised in drama and use lots of dramatic techniques to engage students and generate interest. I use a variety of resources in my lessons to suit different learning requirements.

I would describe myself as a warm and enthusiastic teacher who pushes their students to achieve their best. I like to make learning enjoyable but I also set clear and achievable expectations and ensure that those targets are met.

I am very particular about my tutoring sessions, especially when it comes to presentation of work, session structure and effective reflection. I ensure that my students are aware of my standards and how to meet them too.
