Problem with website - my rate is 30 per session (the standard rate). This includes personalised planning, teaching and marking.

My name is Rachel and I have recently completed my bachelor’s degree at Nottingham Trent University in English Language, Literature and Creative Writing. For the past four years, I have thoroughly strengthened my subject knowledge in all areas of English which makes me a confident, reliable, and expert tutor. I work privately with all ages, whether you are a parent looking for a tutor for your child or if you are an adult resitting/sitting the English exam. Alongside my experience in tutoring privately with a multitude of students from KS1-KS4, I have worked full-time as an English GCSE subject specialist full-time in a secondary school's English department for the past year. I have consistently worked with resilience, determination and attentiveness and worked alongside expert teachers who have been in the educational field for years.

I have learnt a multitude of teaching techniques amidst my journey and aim to integrate these pedagogies into my private tuition. My students' results serve as evidence for my dedication to excellence, my drive for empathy and my expertise in the GCSE, with a proven 100% pass rate so far with students who have used me for private tuition and guidance amidst exam season.

I am unwaveringly dedicated to being a helpful and supportive educator for any student who is sitting their English GCSE. Throughout my studies, I additionally worked as an exam marker for Crystal Tuition, all while I have also worked as a GCSE English Language and Literature Tutor. I have taught SEN students including pupils with Dyslexia, ADHD, and I specialise in students with Dyspraxia.

I aim to provide the best support for those who have faced difficulties in achieving their English GCSEs in the past, and I am here to enable pupils to recognize their skills and achieve their highest potential in English, no matter what the circumstances. I will provide 1:1 support for students who need to pass their exams; I have worked with numerous students completing their GCSE English assessments for an array of awarding bodies, including AQA, OCR and Pearson. Whether you are developing your subject knowledge for GCSEs or functional skills, no matter the awarding body, I will work with you according to marking rubrics and past papers, ensuring that you are fully prepared for the questions in the exam(s) that you are specifically sitting.

My teaching style is person-centred, and I prioritize building a strong relationship with all of my clients. I find it emotionally rewarding to see my students go from people who do not believe in themselves, to high-achieving students who end up shocking themselves in the exams. I would describe my tuition as transformative; this is more than just a job for me, I care wholeheartedly for all of my students. I strive to make my learning environment joyful, fun, and intellectually enriching. Regardless of how much you struggle with the subject and potentially find it daunting, with the right teacher, I promise… you can do it!

Rachel has been a very enthusiastic and committed tutor for our son. He enjoys his lessons and has improved substantially since they started. Rachel also sets 'homework' tasks and gives in depth feedback on it too. Rachel really cares about her pupils and we highly recommend her as an English tutor.

I am delighted to share my experience with Rachel, who has been tutoring my son Josh in English for the past few months . Rachel's dedication, expertise, and kindness have made an incredible difference in Josh's academic journey and confidence. Rachel's approach to teaching is both professional and nurturing. From the outset, she took the time to assess Josh's strengths and areas for improvement, creating a personalised learning plan tailored to his needs. Her ability to make complex concepts understandable has been crucial in helping Josh grasp difficult topics and improve his grades. Rachel's patience and encouragement have been particularly valuable. She always provides constructive feedback and celebrates Josh's progress, no matter how small. This positive reinforcement has boosted his self-esteem and made him more confident in his abilities. As a parent, I also appreciate Rachel's excellent communication skills. She regularly updates me on Josh's progress and is always op
