I am a fifth-year Medical student at Imperial College London and hold a First-Class intercalated BSc. I achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Maths, a grade 8 in Further Maths and an A in A-level Mathematics. I also have previous tutoring experience and enjoy helping students become more confident with subjects they may initially find difficult.
I offer Maths tuition for 11+, KS3 and GCSE students, including both Foundation and Higher GCSE Maths. Lessons can focus on strengthening core knowledge, revisiting difficult topics, homework support, preparation for school assessments or developing exam technique. I am happy to work towards a student’s specific goals and adapt lessons to the topics they are currently covering at school.
At the beginning of our first lesson, I would discuss the student’s current level, areas of confidence and topics they find more challenging. I then structure lessons around clear explanations, worked examples and guided practice before giving the student the opportunity to answer questions independently. I check understanding throughout and encourage students to explain their reasoning, rather than simply memorising a method.
My aim is to create a patient, relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I understand that confidence can have a major effect on performance in Maths, so I break difficult problems into manageable steps and adjust the pace depending on the individual student.
Alongside tutoring, I have experience working with children through volunteering and babysitting. I have also volunteered with initiatives supporting Syrian refugees and progressed from General Committee member to Vice-Chair and Chair of ICSM RAG, where I led a student committee that raised over £26,000 for charity. These experiences strengthened my communication, reliability, organisation and ability to work with people from different backgrounds.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes and are available online or in person within reasonable travelling distance of West London. I prepare for each lesson in advance so that the time is focused, useful and suited to the student’s needs.
