About My Lessons
My lessons are designed to be engaging, structured, and tailored to each student's individual needs. Whether I'm working with a Year 4 child building their times tables or a secondary student tackling algebra and quadratics, I adapt my approach to suit the learner in front of me.
Lesson Format
Each session starts with a quick recap of previous material to reinforce understanding, followed by introducing or deepening a concept through clear explanations and worked examples. I always leave time for practice questions at the end, so students finish feeling genuinely confident rather than overwhelmed.
What I Teach
Primary / KS2 — Maths
I focus on building strong foundations — number sense, times tables, fractions, and written methods — because these underpin everything that comes later. For Science, I bring curiosity into the lesson, encouraging students to ask why things work the way they do. I'm experienced with SATs preparation and the full KS2 curriculum.
Secondary / KS3 — Mathematics
At secondary level, I help students develop real problem-solving confidence across all areas of the Maths curriculum, including algebra, geometry, ratio, statistics, and number. I'm familiar with both Foundation and Higher tier and know exactly where students tend to get stuck — and how to get them unstuck. Whether your child needs to catch up, keep up, or push for a grade 7, 8, or 9, I'll build a plan around their specific goals.
My Experience
I have over 3 years of tutoring experience working with students from KS2 through to GCSE level. Over that time I've helped students improve their grades, rebuild their confidence, and develop a genuine interest in Maths and Science. I take pride in being patient, encouraging, and clear — no matter how many times a concept needs to be revisited.
