Teaching is a great way of reinforcing what you’ve learnt. This is what inspired me to start teaching in the first place.

I’ve owned a chalkboard and a whiteboard since I was 7 and all I did after school was try to emulate what the teachers taught that day, except, in a way that I understand better.

Certain concepts seem difficult since they’re foreign and new, however, taught the right way, you can remember them for a lifetime!

My friend once mentioned that 5 years later, she still remembers the entire process of Aluminium metallurgy and purification simply because I spoke about it through fun facts.

Positive reinforcement can also play a huge part in this. For example, when I was in middle school, we were learning about digestion and while I was mumbling and writing on the very first bench as the teacher dictated the process word to word, she heard me mention the enzyme Amylase and it’s function of breaking down starch in the mouth.

She was impressed and simply said, ‘Correct’ with a slight smile. That was enough to make my day (and my mind in wanting to pursue this as a career!)

I wish to be a similar figure if not a better one in many of yous lives!
