My lessons aim to be tailored to the students needs with a large focus on GCSE Maths by making it clear and manageable by breaking up topics into step by step processes, and then proceed by building the students confidence with practice questions which we can work through together before they do them on their own.
A standard lesson may start with a quick recap of what we covered in the previous lesson and a check in their understanding from last time, any queries and questions etc. I will then explain the next topic in detail in a structured format before moving on to the guided practice and private practice questions, and sometimes a miniature test like paper to check their understanding every few weeks to check if there was anything missing.
I prefer my lessons to be based around what the student feels most comfortable with so I will adapt my pace to fit their needs, so the lessons never feel rushed or stressed.
My sessions are interactive and encouraging with plenty of time for questions and mistakes as this is where I feel the most important learning happens.
With two years of experience in tutoring GCSE Maths, I understand the common challenges which students struggle with (especially confidence) so I take this experience to my advantage and explain topics in a way that each student will understand. My goal is to help them not only improve their grades in Maths but to also improve their confidence in their strengths to make their future in maths stronger.
