My lessons are structured, interactive and focused on building both understanding and confidence. I begin by identifying the student’s current level, strengths and areas that need improvement. From there, I create a clear plan tailored to their exam board and target grade.
A typical lesson starts with a short recap of previous material to reinforce learning followed by introduction to the new topic by breaking it down into simple, logical steps. I use real-life examples and clear analogies to make abstract concepts easier to grasp. For example, when teaching algebra or integration-style concepts, I first explain the intuition behind the method before moving on to exam-style questions.
Lessons are highly interactive : I encourage students to think aloud, attempt questions independently and ask as many questions as they like. I believe mistakes are an important part of learning, so I create a comfortable environment where students feel safe to try.
Since I currently teach GCSE Maths at the College of North West London with Get Further, I understand the common challenges students face and the techniques that help them succeed in exams. I regularly use past-paper questions, timed practice and exam strategies to improve accuracy and speed.
Above all, my goal is not just to improve grades but to help students feel confident in Maths. With patience, structure and consistent practice, I ensure steady progress and measurable improvement over time.
