I have a degree in visual communication from Leeds Art University. Within my 3 years studying there I explored a range or mediums including: photography, illustration, graphic design, film making and radio/ audio production. I have always taken a multidisciplinary approach to creativity which I believe is essential in today’s constantly changing job climate. Visual communication gives you the tools to think laterally and problem solve, pulling on a variety theory and practical skills that help you to adapt and deliver exciting and unique solutions to creative briefs.
Our lessons will investigate different mediums of creative practices, looking at the theory, history and processes. We will have a practical task in order to develop skills in each specialism and be set a creative brief that will use the lessons specialism as a homework before the next session. You will then present your finished brief in a critique in our the next session where you will be given feedback on what you have produced. Each brief set will require at least one page of research with references submitted along side practical work to support it.
These processes and practices will help you develop the skills and knowledge of what is expected of you at an undergraduate university level. Whether you are at that stage and need a little extra support, at A Level weighing up your options or just want to expand your creative skills set, these sessions help guide an develop you into a more multidisciplinary artist with a flexible approach to briefs.
