Phil Burns

I am a multi-instrumentalist, live and studio engineer, and music producer with over 25 years of professional experience in the music industry. My career has spanned stage and studio, performance and production — giving me a deep and practical understanding of how great music is created, both technically and artistically.

Starting out as a passionate musician, I developed skills across keyboards, guitar, bass, and music production, building a career that’s taken me from local venues to world-class stages. I’ve also worked as part of the professional road crew for some of the biggest names on the planet, gaining invaluable insight into touring, live sound, and the demands of top-level performance.

In the studio, I specialise in Logic Pro and modern recording techniques, helping artists turn ideas into fully produced tracks. As a live and studio engineer, I combine a musician’s ear with a producer’s precision to bring out the best in every performance.

As a keyboard player, I perform regularly with several professional tribute acts and an original progressive rock band, drawing on decades of influences from rock, pop, and electronic music.

I’m also deeply passionate about music history and the evolution of music technology from the 1950s onwards — particularly the groundbreaking recording innovations of The Beatles and other classic artists. Understanding how those pioneers made their records continues to inspire my own approach to performance, production, and teaching, blending vintage creativity with modern techniques.
