Teaching or impacting into students has a great hall mark of my teaching career. I had my undergraduate teaching degree in Mathematics as major and Physics as minor. After completion, I worked as a teaching assistant at the university of Cape Coast, Ghana where I taught and trained students in some mathematics areas and helped with their project work and graded assessment. Teaching for 5 years has been full of lessons as I have to adapt to all needs of students. I prepare power point for my lessons and also use both formative and summative forms of assessment to ascertain the depth of knowledge and understanding of concepts. I have always believed that students learn best when they teach themselves. In such situations, I create worksheets for students to reflect on their own understanding of concepts and guide them to share their answers and the corrections thereof.
I intermittently use past questions from the required exam board to preview students to the nature of questions that they can expect and guide in solving them during and after the teaching and learning. Over the years, students who have passed through my hands have obtained 100% results and grades in their final exams and have upgraded themselves to higher levels of their education (e.g. University).
I believe that I will be able to impact greatly in the lives of the students when I am offered the opportunity to teach. Students learn best when lessons are made practical for them, and I stand to make my lessons very practical to my students which will enable them to have a full grasp of the concept
