My lessons are typically conducted as hour-long, in-person sessions that begin with a focus on developing a student’s approach to learning, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence through a question-led style of engagement. I place particular emphasis on building strong academic foundations, especially for younger learners, so that they can carry these skills confidently throughout their education.
I aim to inspire students to understand the reasoning behind mathematics, rather than treating it as a memorisation exercise. By cultivating genuine comprehension, students not only perform better academically but also develop an enduring interest in the subject.
For students under 10 years of age, my sessions align with the EYFS framework, focusing on:
Achieving early learning goals in reading and writing
Strengthening phonics, including letters and sounds
Enhancing English fluency through shared reading
Building early mathematical understanding through number recognition, counting, number bonds, and pattern identification
I have supported learners across a wide range of educational settings in Northamptonshire, working as an assistant tutor with students aged 11–18 preparing for their GCSEs and A-levels. In addition, I have guided children aged 3–10 through my family’s childminding business, focusing on early numeracy and language development.
Having completed my own GCSEs, A-levels, and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, all with a strong emphasis on Mathematics and Economics, I bring both academic rigour and practical teaching experience to my lessons.
My sessions are ideal for:
Young learners (ages 3–10) building core Maths and English skills or learning English as a second language.
Secondary students seeking focused GCSE Mathematics support through exam-specific, engaging, and results-driven lessons.
I offer both online and in-person tuition. Based in Surrey, I am also able to travel into London for sessions as required. My schedule is flexible, and I am available on weekends to accommodate students’ needs.
