My teaching style is student-centred, supportive, and tailored to each individual's goals, learning style, and level of experience. Whether you are preparing for exams, developing academic writing skills, writing an application for a funding body, improving your English, studying the humanities, or working on a creative project, I aim to create a learning environment that is both engaging and encouraging. I grew up with a strong sense of pedagogy and I taught my mom how to read. I am patient, excited about teaching and above all I care about fostering a genuine curiosity for learning.
I have experience teaching and facilitating workshops at universities, arts institutions, and cultural organisations, including Central Saint Martins, The Aga Khan Centre, Somerset House and more. My academic background includes a First-Class Honours degree in Anthropology and Persian from SOAS, University of London, alongside professional experience in communications, filmmaking, and the arts.
Lessons are typically structured around a combination of discussion, practical exercises, feedback, and goal-setting. I believe that students learn best when they actively participate, ask questions, and connect new knowledge to their own interests and experiences. For this reason, I adapt my teaching methods to suit each student rather than following a rigid formula.
For academic subjects, I can help with essay writing, critical analysis, research methods, revision strategies, and study skills. For creative subjects, I focus on developing ideas, strengthening creative confidence, and providing constructive feedback on projects and portfolios.
Above all, my goal is to help students become more confident, independent learners. I strive to make lessons both intellectually stimulating and enjoyable, ensuring that students leave each session with a clearer understanding of the material and practical tools they can continue to use in their studies and beyond.
