I had an experience teaching in a conversational class for adults wherein we normally talk about things which they find it interesting to talk about like for example I wanted to hear their opinion about a stand in a particular issue about life.I also initiate small English passage or short articles and we discuss that to better check if they have understood and ask them questions that would help them better come out of ideas expressing themselves using English.There are also times that I will let them speak of a particular situation wherein they find it hard to bear and ask them what was the first thing they did to overcome the my class, I really wanted my students to feel relaxed and comfortable because I believe that it is one way they will learn to speak their minds freely.With that environment,I know they will not be hesitant to speak up regardless if I have to correct them because that's precisely the purpose of their study.I really wanted to help them to express themselves confidently in English.I know that it has to be a teamwork but if a friendly atmosphere is there between the teacher and students, then most likely, it will help them grow faster in terms of all students are of the same study habits but if I can make the class a conducive room to learn,then I will exert effort in doing that for them to enjoy my class.I want to be a part of their English journey every step of the way.
