I'm happy to adapt lessons to whatever best suits my students, PowerPoints to explain topics and review of exam questions. I will also direct you towards useful resources and websites that I found useful.
I will make sure to follow your schools curriculum, I did AQA at GCSE and OCR A at A-level but am happy to cover other content. We can establish Learning objectives based on this and the students needs.
I think it's important to find my students preferred style of learning and discuss this with them and how they would like the content of the lessons to be presented. It's also important to discuss what areas they struggle with more so that we can focus our lessons on that.
Personally, I was a visual learner so found videos very useful. I think it's also useful for the learner to become the teacher and repeat back to me what they have learned so we can incorporate a little summary towards the end of our lessons.
I would also think it's really important to keep lessons interactive so that learners remain engaged and therefore think it would be nice to incorporate little games and quizzes as long as the student is comfortable.
Ultimately, I'm aiming to keep my learners engaged and interested as I know this makes for much better memory and learning. Keeping the students needs at the centre of our learning is what I will prioritise and I hope to share my knowledge in a fun and interesting way.
