I am an English Language Teacher from Ireland. I have a Masters Degree in International Development which has given me the privilege of travelling to many countries around the world. I am also a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) qualified teacher, with over a year of experience, teaching both online and in a classroom. I have taught a whole range of ages, from young children up to adults, as well as people from across the world. What I have learned is that each individual has different learning styles and needs and it is important to cater to these differences. This has helped me to become a more all-round teacher that can adjust the type of class and style of teaching to that of the student.

The classes that I teach vary from formal to informal styles. I believe it is very important to have the correct mix of speaking, reading, writing, and grammar exercises. Generally, the classes that I teach consist of learning new vocabulary, tenses, pronunciation, idioms, etc. I place importance on explaining and teaching the subject first, through drilling or controlled activities, before moving onto putting the new subject or piece of language into practice. Putting the new piece of language learned into practice is usually done through free-speaking activities. Most of the free-speaking activities involve fun learning exercises, as it is important to have some fun while learning something new (especially a new language).
