I have been teaching since 2015, when I joined the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Zagazig University, Egypt, as a Demonstrator in the Department of Food Hygiene and Control. In this role, I taught Food Safety and Microbiology to final-year veterinary medicine students while assisting in practical sessions, preparing teaching materials, and mentoring students in both theoretical and laboratory-based learning.
I earned my Master's degree in Veterinary Medical Sciences from Zagazig University, where I developed a strong foundation in microbiology, food safety, and scientific research. This academic background enabled me to secure a fully funded PhD scholarship at the School of Veterinary Sciences, University of Bristol, England, where I completed my PhD in 2024.
My doctoral research significantly expanded my expertise in microbiology, molecular biology, and biotechnology while strengthening my analytical thinking, experimental design, scientific writing, data interpretation, and presentation skills. It also equipped me with the ability to troubleshoot complex scientific problems, develop innovative solutions, and communicate challenging concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
Following my PhD, I worked for two years as a Research Scientist at Folium Science, a biotechnology company in Bristol, UK. There, I led a research project focused on *Escherichia coli*, managing experiments from project planning through data analysis and interpretation. This role allowed me to gain extensive experience in molecular biology techniques, microbial genetics, experimental optimization, project management, cross-functional collaboration, and translating scientific discoveries into practical applications. Working in an industrial biotechnology environment also strengthened my problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to delivering high-quality research under demanding timelines.
In 2026, I returned to Egypt to take up my academic appointment as a Lecturer at Zagazig University, where I currently teach Food Safety, Microbiology, and Biotechnology. My combined experience in academia and the biotechnology industry enables me to bridge fundamental scientific concepts with real-world applications, providing students with an engaging, practical, and research-oriented learning experience. I am passionate about helping students understand complex biological concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and achieve academic excellence.
