At the start of our sessions, I take time to identify a student’s strengths and areas for improvement, allowing me to create a clear, step-by-step plan that targets key topics and skills. Each lesson is thoughtfully designed to include concise explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and independent questions, ensuring that students not only understand the material but also build confidence in applying it.
A central focus of my teaching is on exam technique and avoiding common GCSE mistakes. I help students develop strategies for structuring answers effectively, managing their time under exam conditions, and approaching questions with confidence. By combining content mastery with practical exam skills, I aim to prepare students thoroughly for their assessments.
My lessons are interactive and discussion-based, encouraging students to engage actively with the material. I prioritize creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and thinking critically, rather than just memorising facts. This approach helps students develop independent learning skills that last beyond the classroom.
Having gained experience tutoring my sister and other GCSE students, I have learned how to explain complex topics in a simple, relatable way, using examples and analogies that make learning accessible and enjoyable. I am patient, approachable, and focused on creating a calm, positive learning environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and learn from them.
