My lessons are engaging, structured, and tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning style. At the start of our work together, I take the time to identify your strengths and areas that may require more support, as well as your goals, whether that’s improving exam performance, understanding challenging topics, or building confidence in science overall.
Each lesson is broken down into clear, manageable sections to help you focus and make steady progress. We will go through the topic step-by-step, using simple, easy-to-follow explanations to make even the most complex concepts understandable. I incorporate a range of learning techniques, including diagrams, real-world examples, short quizzes, and exam-style questions, to ensure you feel prepared for every type of assessment.
I always encourage questions during lessons, as this helps you feel comfortable exploring the subject and identifying any gaps in knowledge. At the end of each session, we’ll review what we’ve covered and set optional follow-up tasks to consolidate learning. Whenever appropriate, I will also suggest tailored study strategies and revision tips. Most importantly, I will set some exam-style questions each week that we can mark in the following session - practice makes perfect. Learning what the exam board wants from you is one the most important things to gain from tutor sessions.
My lessons draw on my First-Class degree in Biological Sciences and my experience supporting different audiences through public-facing roles. I aim to make every session positive, supportive, and confidence-boosting, helping you not only improve your grades but also enjoy learning science.
