My lessons are designed to be supportive, engaging and focused on helping each student achieve their goals. I begin by identifying the areas they would like to improve, whether that’s grammar, speaking, listening, writing or exam preparation, and plan lessons around those priorities.

I like to combine clear explanations with plenty of opportunities to practise, so students can build confidence as they learn. I encourage questions throughout the lesson and aim to create a relaxed environment where making mistakes is seen as a normal part of learning. As a recent Modern Languages graduate, I understand the challenges of learning Italian and hope to share both my knowledge and enthusiasm to help students enjoy the language as much as I do.

A typical lesson will usually begin by reviewing any previous work and identifying any areas that need more attention. From there, we’ll move on to new content, breaking down more challenging topics into manageable steps before putting them into practice through a range of activities. I believe students learn best when they’re actively involved, so I encourage discussion, translation, reading aloud and regular speaking practice alongside written exercises.

For students preparing for GCSE or A-level exams, I can also help develop exam technique by working through past paper questions, practising speaking assessments and strengthening vocabulary and grammar needed for each exam board. Alongside this, I want students to understand why certain grammar structures are used rather than simply memorising rules, as this helps them become more confident and independent language learners.

Having studied Italian at university, including spending time immersed in the language and culture, I know how rewarding language learning can be. I enjoy sharing not only the language itself but also insights into Italian culture, helping lessons feel more authentic and enjoyable. Whether you’re aiming to improve your grades, prepare for an exam or simply build confidence in speaking Italian, my goal is to create lessons that are encouraging, well structured and enjoyable. I want every student to finish each lesson feeling that they have made genuine progress and are one step closer to achieving their goals.
