Oliver Turner

As a recent graduate in Biological Sciences I have developed an excellent level of knowledge in relation to key biological concepts which puts me in the perfect position to tutor others. My experiences both within school, where I often helped and supported younger students with deepening their scientific knowledge and at university where I often supported my peers have made me realise I have a passion for educating others.

My approach to tutoring focuses on the student and their personalised needs. Lessons begin with an audit which enables me to assess their strengths and weaknesses of key concepts and then teaching will focus on ensuring knowledge gaps are strengthened. The format of the lessons would include direct teaching through a range of styles dependent on the correct style for the specific student and will use exam questions and model answers to help challenge them to improve their grades to achieve their full potential. All lessons will be directly linked to the students exam specifications.

My experiences in studying biology have led to me developing a real passion for the subject and for sharing my knowledge to others to instil the same passion for the subject in them too. Therefore, my lessons will be engaging and memorable and will provide a fresh perspective to students from outside the classroom from someone who has only relatively recently completed the same qualifications. This allows me to understand the difficulties they may face and help explain challenges in a more approachable and simplified manner.
