Nuria Comerma

¡Hola! I am Nuria, a Spanish from Barcelona living in Turkey. I have been working as an English teacher for five years and as a Spanish Teacher for three years. I have a Master’s Degree in Teaching in Secondary Schools, Vocational Training and Language Centres. Thanks to my academic background as well as working in very different places and in two different countries, I have had the opportunity to try different methodologies and approches and to discover myself as a teacher, which has led me to the teacher I am nowadays.
My teaching method is based on the natural process of mother tongue acquisition through dynamic activities which allow students to activate language mechanisms in a natural way. What I have learned from my experience as a teacher is that there is no learning without motivation for learning, and that learning comes from real life experiences. Therefore, I always develop activities that will awake each and every student’s passion to learn and improve, adapting all my lessons to every student’s needs and preferences. I combine different activities and teaching strategies aimed to strengthen all the language skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking and, of course, grammar & vocabulary. In my lessons, you will have to learn the verbal tenses but, at the same time, you will do things such as listen and translate songs, record yourself explaining your day or write a story.
