Hello everyone! My name is Nico and I am currently completing my MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Previously, I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Counselling. I studied for four years at Arizona State University (ASU), where I also competed as a student-athlete in tennis. Balancing high-level sport with a demanding academic schedule gave me first-hand experience managing performance pressure, workload demands, discipline, and long-term goal setting.
My academic training has provided me with a strong foundation in psychological theory, research, and applied practice. Through my counselling minor, I developed active listening skills, empathy, and the ability to create a structured yet supportive environment. This allows me to approach each student with both understanding and clarity, while keeping sessions practical and focused on progress.
My lessons are personalised, goal-oriented, and action-driven. In our first session, we define clear objectives, identify specific challenges, and create a realistic plan tailored to individual needs. Rather than focusing solely on content explanation, I emphasise structured preparation, effective study systems, time management strategies, motivation, confidence building, and performance under pressure.
I work with student-athletes and individuals who feel overwhelmed by workload, procrastination, performance anxiety, or lack of direction. Each session includes strategic planning, targeted exercises, reflective discussion, and clear action steps to implement between meetings. I prioritise accountability and measurable progress so that students gradually develop independence and long-term self-regulation skills.
My goal is not only academic improvement, but the development of sustainable performance habits that can be applied in exams, university, sport, and future professional environments.
