Nicky

Hello- I'm Nicky.
I graduated with first-class honours in Biological Sciences from the University of Birmingham; where I won the award for the highest mark in the year. I now work in the pharmaceutical industry. As part of my role, I design and deliver a lot of corporate training. This is something which I love doing - I really enjoy finding fun and sometimes slightly mad ways of explaining a subject in order to make the information really stick!
I particularly love helping anyone who is struggling or just needs a little extra support or guidance to have that moment of clarity - that point in tutoring where they finally *get* it - because that is what really good tuition is about; helping students to develop a deeper understanding by allowing them to see a subject from a slightly different angle.

Before my degree, I worked as a school Biology technician, where I gained a deep working knowedge of a number of exam boards specifications, including AQA and OCR, and the practical experiments which can be done alongside them.
Aside from tutoring and my day job, I am a semi-professional portrait artist and illustrator. I also write an online blog and maintain several social media profiles under the name Brainfood, where I create content about recent Biology news, research and revision topics.
