Nia Williams

Welsh professional cellist based in London. Graduated of Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I studied with Rebecca Gilliver, whose teaching strongly influences my own approach. I freelance regularly in London and across the UK, with ensembles including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Cymru, Orpheus Sinfonia and Wild Arts Opera. I was also principal cello of the Guildhall Chamber and Opera Orchestras while a student, as well as the National Youth Orchestra of Wales.
I am a hardworking and committed teacher who always works to get the very best out of my students. My teaching approach varies between each student, depending on what they want to get out of learning the cello. I teach anyone from young students to adults, and and level, whether you have been playing for years, previously learnt as a child and want to come back to the instrument later in life, or are a total beginner. I am always friendly and encouraging, and thoroughly enjoy teaching.
