My lessons are structured, supportive and highly focused on helping students understand both the content and the exam technique needed to succeed.

I usually begin by checking prior knowledge and identifying any gaps before introducing new material in a clear, step-by-step way. I use diagrams, real-world examples, questioning and short retrieval tasks to make sure students are actively thinking rather than just listening.

A typical lesson may include:
- a short recap or retrieval starter
- clear explanation of the topic
- worked examples and diagrams
- exam-style questions
- discussion and questioning
- feedback on written answers
- targeted improvement tasks

For Economics in particular, I place a strong emphasis on helping students build clear chains of analysis, use context and data effectively, explain diagrams properly and develop strong evaluation rather than relying on memorised and unfamiliar phrases.

I am a qualified teacher with experience teaching Economics and Mathematics across secondary and sixth-form education, and I have also worked as Head of Economics. I currently teach A Level Economics and work as an Edexcel Economics examiner, which gives me a detailed understanding of mark schemes, assessment objectives and the common mistakes that prevent students from reaching the higher grades.

My lessons are adapted to the individual student. Some students need more support with the fundamentals, while others need to refine their exam technique and push towards the highest grades. I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing confidence in the subject.
