I am currently a primary school teacher for over a year now, where my aim is to always deliver a lesson where students enjoy themselves whilst learning! This has been effective in helping them to process information and I always keep lessons as interactive as possible, so that independent tasks are easier to complete.

I work with a group of children who speak English as an additional language, and seeing the progress they make in reading, writing as well as speaking has been amazing to see!

My lessons are always interactive and as conversational as my students would like, but the main focus is always the task at hand. I find that keeping silent for too long during a teach might be disengaging, but I’m very considerate of the student’s pace and confidence and see no point in pushing too hard or being slower than necessary!

I try to be quite memorable in my methods so that there is always a point of reference for students (mainly children or young adults) if they ever struggle to remember something, whether it’s a trigger word or a hand gesture.

I have also worked with adults in private tutoring for companies who need support in building communication, where I also keep lessons very practical so that it is much easier to apply!

A portion of my private tutoring lessons have been held online and thankfully the learning process is quite similar to how I conduct them in real life! Students are able to converse with me and any awkwardness is straight out the window!
