My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each individual student. I have experience with both individual and group tutoring, as well as in-person tutoring, and I have found that students often learn best when lessons are adapted to their own needs.
I take a person-centred approach, meaning that each lesson is based around what the student wants to achieve and the areas they need the most support with. I like to start by understanding their current level and identifying any topics they find difficult. From there, I can adjust the pace and style of teaching to make sure they feel comfortable and are making progress. I always aim to make lessons interactive and engaging rather than simply talking through information. I encourage students to ask questions, work through problems and explain their thinking, as I believe this helps build both understanding and confidence. Including exam questions and practice activities within my lessons also helps students become more comfortable in applying what they have learnt.
I achieved A*s and As throughout my GCSEs and A levels, so I have personal experience of preparing for exams and understanding what is needed to achieve strong results. I can share the study and revision techniques that worked for me, while also helping students develop methods that suit them personally.
Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. My goal is to create lessons that are productive, encouraging and enjoyable, while helping each student build their knowledge and confidence.
