My lessons are catered towards the goals you want to achieve! If you're looking to excel in an art history essay, I will start by providing you with information on the subjects you want to touch on for your assignment. Once I see your interests, I'll help you structure your writing to showcase your understanding of information. If you are looking for support on a creative project, I will first discuss what it is your want to make, and what your goals are for the finished project. I will help you find inspiration by sharing artists' work, followed by giving you background on process and techniques, and then work along side you while you create.
My academic qualifications include a Masters in Contemporary Art Theory and a Bachelors in Fine and Studio Art practices. As an artist, I work primarily within Film and Photography, but have made work in sculpture, installation, and performance art. Writing is a big part of my practice, both in research and in essays. I have been tutoring and teaching for 8 years, and have had students from all different levels of experience within art. All my lessons are structured to what learning methods work best for you as a student, whether it's on-line or in person.
We all look at art and experience it differently. There is not one correct way, and I get excited in being able to guide in that journey! Learning about art should be fun, and the more you get exposed to it, the more you start to see your personal interests.
