I was born and raised in Japan, where I completed my compulsory education in Japanese. I also have experience working part-time in Japan. Therefore, I am able to communicate effectively in both casual and formal contexts across various situations. I am a student at the University of Birmingham; therefore, I can speak general English with an IELTS score of 6.5. I generally accommodate the student's preferred style. However, I am now thinking of a style that focuses on practical conversation, using real-life examples. Also, I will provide lessons with pronunciation support and cultural insights to make learning practical and enjoyable learning. Class will be, in general, in Japanese, and you can get experience like studying abroad. Using Japanese a lot will lead to faster learning. However, depending on the situation, I can provide a class on writing and reading: for instance, starting with the basics of Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji, or editing your writing. I believe I can support students not only through my background as a native Japanese speaker, but also through my own experience of learning English as a second language and continuing my studies at a university in the UK. Because I understand the challenges and feelings of learning a new language, I can guide learners with empathy and practical support.
