My teaching style is warm, engaging, and student-focused. I believe that every student can learn Biology when they are taught in a way that suits their individual needs. Students between the ages of 10 and 18 are at very different stages of their learning, so I make an effort to understand each student and adjust my teaching accordingly.

In my lessons, I try to make Biology feel interesting and relevant rather than simply something students have to memorise. I use everyday examples, diagrams, questions, discussions, demonstrations, and practical activities to help students understand difficult topics. I particularly enjoy encouraging students to ask questions and share their ideas, as I believe this helps them become more confident learners.

My experience has taught me that patience and encouragement are just as important as subject knowledge. Some students may need more time or a different explanation before a concept becomes clear, and I am happy to approach a topic from different angles until they understand it. I also regularly check students’ progress and provide constructive feedback so they know what they are doing well and where they can improve.

Above all, I want my students to feel comfortable, supported, and motivated in my classroom. My aim is not only to help them achieve good results, but also to develop their confidence, curiosity, critical thinking, and genuine interest in Biology. I have experience of working with undergraduates in keele university and Staffordshire university, and provided academic support in various subjects and worked as an exam invigilator for students who needed one on one support as scribe and reader.
