I have 10+ years in tutoring children in grades K-8 in Maths. I am an online tutor and am available for 1 hour sessions Monday through Friday, whether it be homework help, test prep, or a general strengthening of skills. I have a passion for advocating for children's excitement in education and encourage my students through practice and affirmations. I foster an environment without shame and help students build positive associations with learning and enhancing skills. I assist students in the act of STUDYING for their learning type - many don't know how! My aim is to help improve your child's skills while boosting their confidence.

A first lesson would begin with an assessment. This includes the students current progress in Maths, their goals, and a short quiz so that I can gage their level of aptitude in the subject. I encourage my student to physically write down their goals somewhere, as well as to write down something positive about themselves. In the first session, I like to focus on either homework help or by going over a graded assignment. This gives me and idea of the student's level of confidence. Following the first session, I will set monthly goals for the student as it is important to set expectations. Each session will begin with 15 minutes of reviewing previous work, 30 minutes of strengthening skills through guidance and practice, and finally, 15 minutes of review, reflection, and a short education game if time permits. I believe this method creates a positive association with extracurricular studying.
