Lessons are structured but flexible: I begin by identifying exactly where your child is confident, and where they need extra support, then build a personalised plan aligned closely with the national curriculum. I always explain goals clearly at the start of each session, so children know exactly what they will achieve by the end of our time together. I break down topics into simple, manageable steps, using clear explanations, examples, and interactive activities suited to younger learners, whether focusing on reading, writing, spelling, grammar, number skills, problem-solving or reasoning.
I place great emphasis on building confidence alongside ability. Many children find learning easier once they feel reassured and successful, so I celebrate small wins and work steadily to remove anxiety around schoolwork. My sessions support daily class learning, homework tasks, and preparation for KS1 and KS2 assessments including SATs.
