My Biology Lessons: Structured, Interactive and Personalized

I have six years and one month of private tutoring experience, supported by a First Class Honours degree in Biology Education from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). I teach Biology and Science across different international and national curricula, including Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, IB Diploma Programme (SL and HL), AS Level, A-Level, AQA, Singapore curriculum, and KSSM/SPM.

My online lessons are structured around each student's existing knowledge, learning pace, and academic objectives. I usually begin by identifying the topics they find challenging and assessing their understanding through discussion and targeted questions. This helps me determine whether a student needs to revisit fundamental concepts, strengthen their application of knowledge, or develop better examination techniques.

During lessons, I explain biological processes step by step, using diagrams, examples, and structured discussions to make complex concepts easier to understand. Depending on the topic, we may explore cell biology, biological molecules, enzymes, membrane transport, genetics, inheritance, gene expression, human physiology, immunity, homeostasis, or ecology.

I also incorporate examination-style questions into my lessons. Students learn how to interpret command words, analyze experimental data, understand biological investigations, apply concepts to unfamiliar situations, and construct scientifically accurate answers using appropriate terminology. Rather than simply providing model answers, I guide students through the reasoning behind each answer so they can gradually become more independent.

My teaching approach combines explanation, questioning, guided practice, and constructive feedback. I adapt lesson content and difficulty according to the student's progress, whether they are learning a topic for the first time, revising before an examination, or aiming to improve their overall performance.

Beyond teaching, I have research experience in virology and molecular biology, including laboratory-based studies and computational approaches to antiviral research. This allows me to connect relevant classroom concepts with practical examples from biological research.

My objective is to help students develop a deeper understanding of Biology, think scientifically, and approach examinations with greater confidence.
