Mr. Raza Kayani

I am Raza Kayani, a B.Sc., B.Ed., PGCE, M.Sc. (Physics) and Math/Physics/STEM teacher with 20 years of experience. I teach using real-life examples and adopt a STEM methodology. I am also the author of several physics and STEM books. I teach British (CAIE, AQA, Edexcel, OCR) GCSE/IGCSE, A-Level, AP, IB, and Ontario Curricula. Educational theories, such as Cognitivism, Constructivism, Connectivism, the MARGE educational model, KWL-Chart, and Barak Rosenshein’s Principles, are utilised to teach science and STEM in a secondary school at various international schools worldwide.
I focus on repeating key concepts in every tutoring session to boost understanding and build confidence. I help students make connections between topics for deeper, more holistic learning. We also spend time applying knowledge to exam-style questions, which is essential for success. A key part of my approach is identifying and addressing knowledge gaps to ensure that no student is left behind. By tailoring my lessons to each student, I ensure that they receive the support they need to succeed in their respective course.
Overall, my multi-curriculum tutoring experience has prepared me to be adaptable, student-centred, and curriculum-aware. I understand how to scaffold instruction to accommodate varying levels of prior knowledge, and I’m able to integrate technology, simulations, and hands-on demonstrations to deepen understanding.
