I am a 2D artist, illustrator, and drawing tutor with around a year and a half of teaching experience and formal training in 2D Game Art and Illustration.

I teach traditional drawing, digital art, Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, and general visual design. My lessons are mainly for teenagers from secondary school age and adults, from beginners to students with some experience who want to strengthen their fundamentals.

My teaching approach is very practical. I believe that learning art and design should be interesting and enjoyable, not just memorizing tools or completing exercises for the sake of completing them. I like to first understand what the student wants to create and then teach the skills needed to help them get there.

Depending on the student's goals, lessons can include drawing fundamentals such as shape, form, perspective, composition, light and shadow, character drawing, and visual storytelling. For digital art and design, I can teach workflows in Photoshop, Illustrator, and their Affinity equivalents, including vector drawing, the Pen Tool, layers, masks, selections, color, typography, and creating finished artwork or designs.

I also like to teach through small projects. Instead of only learning what a tool does, we can use it to create something interesting such as a character, illustration, logo, poster, game asset, or other personal project.

I learned art later in life rather than growing up feeling naturally talented, so I understand what it is like when something does not immediately make sense. I try to explain concepts clearly, visually, and patiently, and adapt the lesson to the way each student learns best.

My goal is for students to leave lessons not only knowing more, but also feeling more confident about creating things on their own.
